The San Diego Union-Tribune gave its 14-year-old web site, www.signonsandiego.com a makeover that included a new design, improved navigation, and compelling new content from a wide range of partners.

The upgrades were the first steps in a transformation that included local bloggers and other community-driven content. By combining the power of local news with easy online access, the Union-Tribune transcended its role as a news source and became a lifestyle choice and desired online destination for the San Diego community. The paper estimates that 2.6 million unique users visit its site each month.

The new web site release came just six months after Platinum’s acquisition of the newspaper.
