Platinum bought Alcoa’s wire harness and electrical distribution business in June 2009; Alcoa put the division up for sale in January 2009. The business was the largest component of Alcoa’s electrical and electronic solutions division, with over 17,000 employees and a presence in 13 countries across the globe.
